Difference between Standard and True RMS Multimeter,
Sinusoidal waveform:
All multimeters whether standard or True RMS meters are capable of measuring the RMS value of pure sinusoidal waveforms,
Non-sinusoidal waveforms:
The difference in measurement accuracy occurs when we are measuring Non-sinusoidal waveforms like Square waves, Triangular waves and etc...
True RMS multimeter ensures we will get the most accurate measurement, No matter what the actual A/C waveform looks like.
The difference will be up to 40% low or 10% high in its calculations.
