Today is a test day.
Looks like refresh rendering may be a little more selective - none of the desktop bots came yesterday -
Looking at search console for today's test day and it's in the Valid category -
INDEXED, NOT SUBMITTED IN SITEMAP

Search console makes the distinction between content we submit and content that they find.
Why?
Most of use read that as "you've done it wrong".
Why did they go to the effort of telling us how it was found - it's 6 of one, half a dozen of another - right?
Obviously, not to Google.
I'll be looking at this in more depth.
