InspectionTool Crawlers Are MIA Crawl or No Crawl 25 October 2023
https://www.AmericanWayMedia.com/inde...
Welcome to Crawl or No Crawl - this is Carolyn Holzman and today is Oct 25 Wednesday
I wanted to share more of the bot data and let you see what I’m seeing.
First - new bots last week
I’ve noticed now for a number of updates they are signaled over operationally with the introduction of a new mobile bot.
The update appears to not be the exception.
Interestingly - there has been a Disappearance of the Inspection tool bots during last week’s
Indexing Spam Marauders that’s what Google said - why their system was overrun and some people were getting the Hostload exceeding errors -
Google is now categorizing what just happened as a temporary processing error -
And Unless one is at the right time, at the right place - your’s may just show Indexed without any notification -
So look here at the absence of the bots appearing with the Google Indexing API
If you’re used to using that - you may have to rethink that - it could be the reason you feel a slow down with your new content or updated content getting rescored.
Right now you can see the data tells you that search console is the only reliable way to communicate new info - yes, there’s a daily limit - but who said life would be perfect.
Now I’d like to show you the index detector data - this is found on American way media -
You can find this by googling Google Index Detector
Now let’s look at the bot counts and who is coming and more importantly WHO IS NOT
Desktop bot rendering bots are making a comeback - they were MIA before
New Mobile chrome build bot
The InspectionTool crawlers - where are they now?
Look at the gap between the 12th and the 17th - they still are absent
I think the Hostload exceeded event is more problematic for Google right now than they expected - and likely want for us to notice - but here it is
Make of it what you will - I’ll be explore in more detail in this week’s Confessions of an SEO -
If you haven’t watched the Movie a Few Good Men - its a Tom Cruise Jack Nicholson movie - plus a few others - you might want to catch up on it before listening to the podcast -
I’ll either title it You’re Damn Right I Ordered the Code Red - or A few Good Bots
You can catch that wherever there are podcasts
