The Google August Core Update Is Over Search Status Dashboard About To Announce
Welcome to Crawl or No Crawl - this is Carolyn Holzman and today is Sept 4 - we are now in year three of the indexation research -
Once again Google does not disappoint.
If you’ve been wondering what was going on during this update - let me show you -
Here’s a prediction -
Tomorrow Sept 5th - the search status dashboard will be updated to say that the August Core update is over.
How do I know - let me run you though the Data to show the sign posts -
Aug 18 - the desktop chrome build bot (40) was launched that was a Friday -
Aug 21/22 all our search console page reports were updated to August 21
Aug 22 - google announced the August Core update and it would take 2 weeks to roll out
Aug 24 - they launched a new chrome build bot (41) - so likely the knobs were adjusted those 2 days between the 22nd and the 24th when they launched the new mobile bot
The evening between Sept 1 and 2 we were expecting a search console report - it did not have and at the time of this report it still hasn’t updated - it’s stuck on August 28th
Sept 3 - they launched the desktop chrome build to match the mobile bot (41)
Sept 4th - today they launched a new mobile chrome build - MB42
AND the InspectionTool bots have been updated to match the build for GB41
So I can say that if its not tomorrow it will be Wednesday when the search status dashboard will have a note that the August Core Update is complete
If you count the days - tomorrow is exactly 14 days from the announcement
They are done, Now we’ll get confirm that the update is over -
The thing is the update isn’t just the sorting instructions - it’s the chrome builds and getting all the pieces tested to confirm that they are working and working in order,

I’ve started testing the Google Indexing API again and will be putting the primary mobile data site on stop - and have moved over to a desktop site with the Google Indexing API connected up.
Some people have been reporting that using the API has stopped their content from getting indexed.
So I couldn’t resist -
Yes - the site is a primary desktop site in search console -
The page is findable by the simple keyword -
But not by the javascript - so now we wait to confirm if there is simply a delay in the rendering pass of the page - or not -
