Danby Mini Fridge Repair - Replacing Faulty Thermostat
One day, our Danby Mini Fridge suddenly could not maintain a cold temperature. At the lowest temperature setting, it cools to only +2°C in the freezer/condenser compartment and +8°C in the rest of the fridge. Needless to say, food and dairy products went bad upon discovery.
After diagnosing, I found the root cause to be a faulty thermostat, which luckily is a relatively inexpensive part to replace (~$20) and avoids throwing out the entire appliance.
After replacing the thermostat and setting to only medium power, it is now able to cool to below zero in the freezer and a safe 4°C in the fridge compartment.
