How to Create Countdown Timer in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
Creating and adding a countdown timer in your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation can be useful to tell your viewers that your presentation is going to start in a few seconds. In this tutorial, you are going to learn how to create a countdown timer in your Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation. Follow the following simple steps:-
1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint 2010.
2. Type "Start slide" on the first slide and type "End slide" on the end slide.
3. Click on the empty slide and delete all the labels on it. Click on the "Oval" tool to draw a large circle on it. Now draw a small circle besides it. To draw a circle instead of an oval, hold down the "Shift" key while drawing. Click on the "Quick Styles" drop down menu to select color for the large circle.
4. Click on the large circle. Click on the "Animation" tab. From the drop down menu of "Add Animation" and in the "Exit" section of it, click on "Wheel" option.
5. From the "Start" drop down menu, click on "With Previous" option. Set the duration to 5 seconds.
6. Click on the small circle and select a quick style for it. Press Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V simultaneously to make 5 copies of the small circle. Enter the labels on them from 5 to 1.
7. Click on the fifth circle. Click on the "Animation" tab and from the "Add Animation" drop down menu, select the "Disappear" option in the "Exit" section. From the "Start" drop down menu, click on "With Previous" option. Now set the "Delay" time for the fifth circle to 1 second.
8. Repeat the previous step for the remaining circles. Remember that the delay time for the fourth circle should be set to 2 seconds, third circle to 3 seconds and so on.
9. Move all the five circles from 1 to 5 on to the large circle. Now your countdown timer has been created.
10. Click on the "Slide Show" tab and from this tab, select the "From Beginning" option to play the presentation.
