Welcome to Sir ML's Biology, in this video we take a detailed look at the process of glycogen synthesis and I will help you with a step by step guide to this Glycogenesis pathway. Glucose in our muscle and liver cells will be the first molecule to be used in the process of glycogenesis. In this pathway, different enzymes will be utilised to covert glucose into many intermediate compounds before numerous monomeric units of glucose will be bound together to form a long chain polymer called glycogen. The synthesis of glycogen is a reverse pathway of glycogenolysis.
