It’s time to celebrate Independence Day! Happy 4th of July! Michigan fireworks laws explained by criminal defense lawyer, Aaron J. Boria.

Michigan law allows fireworks to be set off from June 29 to July 4 starting at 11 AM and ending at 11 PM each day (if the fourth falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the celebration is extended to 5 July). if you receive a citation for setting fireworks off outside of these times, you face a $1000 fine.

Selling fireworks without a license can result in substantial penalties.

You face a $1000 fine for lighting fireworks off while you’re under the influence of alcohol.

If anyone is injured, due to mishandling fireworks you could face anything from a misdemeanor to a felony.
