Chang'e - Digital Painting Process
My last commissioned card artwork for the Kickstarter game "Mythos the Divine Card Game" - Chang'e, Chinese goddess of the moon. Her story is that of a tragic romance. She was the beautiful wife of a legendary archer named Hou Yi. Hou Yi one day earned an elixir of immortality from his adventures for himself and Chang'e. However, someone tried to steal it while he was away from home, so Chang'e took the entire potion herself. She ascended to the sky with her pet rabbit for eternity, forever to long for her husband Hou Yi down on earth. (My client wanted the little heart to represent her eternal love for her husband.)
This artwork was for the highest Kickstarter tier where backers could choose any myth they wanted to be made into a playable card for the game. Since this should be the last of all the cards, I'm excited to finally see my work printed in a game! I've done some work for a few other games that have gotten a lot of stalls in development so this is the first one to be actually published with my works :)
