This is the first video in a series of eight that takes a comprehensive look at the parabola.
The definition of a parabola is the set of all points that are equally distant from a fixed point (focus) and a fixed line (directrix). In this video we use that definition to construct (draw) a parabola and to look at how the vertex, focus, directrix, p and latus rectum are all defined and related to the equation for a parabola 4p(y-k)=(x-h)^2 (vertex form)
