Today we make a Mai Tai Slushie in the Ninja Slushi machine and this might be one of the last Ninja Slushi videos I do here 😔. But not to worry, because you can find all your slushie and FROZEN content here: / @makeanddrinkfrozen
The rum blend in today's mix is a combo of some of our favorite affordable rums from the 8 Bottle Showdown • Which of these 8 RUMS makes the best singl... (Appleton Signature and Xyamaca) as well as a new additional flavor bomb, Coruba. When making a slushie many of the flavors are dulled from the temperature so adding in bolder flavors can help bring that back to a level you're familiar with.
You can add less sugar in all of these recipes to get a drink that is less sweet but it will have larger and chunkier ice crystals. The sugar now only works as an antifreeze lowering the freezing temp and allowing a slush to form, but sugar also aids in the small ice crystal structure that we're looking for. Ultimately it's up to you when it comes to texture. Do you want a looser slushie texture with the fine ice crystals or the body from a drink with larger ice crystals?

Mai Tai Slushy
32 oz Batch - Half batch for Ninja Slushi Machine
104 ml lime juice
25 grams of granulated sugar
78 ml orgeat
53 ml orange liqueur
104 ml Appleton Signature Rum
52 ml Xayamaca Rrum
52 ml Coruba Rum
493 ml water
Final output for this came to 12 degrees brix and 11% ABV
