The Nuclear Daiquiri was first made by Gregor de Gruyther in the mid-2000s at LAB, which was originally a training program for bartenders (London Bar Academy). There's no exact trace as to when or why this became so popular, but in 2011 Hawksmoor Guildhall opened in London with a Banana Daquiri and on the description for that drink was a credit to the original creator, Gregor de Gruyther.
