When I left her room, and walked down the hall, I spotted two women sitting in a room, chatting. I popped my head in to say good night. One of the women has a daughter who is Deaf. And this woman has always been so sweet to my mom. As I was talking to them, one of the women couldn’t hear me. So, the woman who has a Deaf daughter, started signing what I was saying. She signed, “She has four kids.” The woman she signed to isn’t Deaf and doesn’t know sign, but my heart melted. It was so natural, she is a mother of a Deaf daughter, and she still has that internal instinct to sign. In that moment… My heart melted. Oh my God.”]
