Life's Not Linear with Kristy Kluge
Kristy Kluge is a District Manager with Verizon. She's been independent and a leader since day 1. As a very social kid, she thought she had the best advice to give, which lead her to a degree in pyschology. At 18, she moves away from her family, got a job at Best Buy and began her undergraduate degree. She started to find that listening to people's problems all day wasn't the best fit for her. She continued to finish her degree and simultaneously became an Assistant Manger while going to school full time! Although she didn't continue on the psychology path, she uses the things she learned in school every single day in her work. She is a leader that prioritizes her people and their emotional needs. Kristy went to get her MBA and is now a director with 100 employees. When she things of leadership, she things of connection and a passion for people. We cannot automante or eliminate the human element. Leadership is all connection. Her advice: don't put too much pressure on yourself. It takes awhile to cultivate your passion. School is never a waste, even if your major isn't your career.
