Life's Not Linear with Rene Sollod
Renee Sollod has always wanted to help in others with everything she does in life. She was a psych & health education major in college and worked at a small nonprofit called Maryland Committee for Children. She also worked at City Bank, which is where her career really pivoted and took off. She learned that she enjoyed marketing and worked full time for City Bank. Her more general degree allowed her the freedom and power to pivot during her career. After 9/11 the job market was shot, so she went into Real Estate. Shortly after the dot com bubble burst, she got her PMP, and her company was bought by Verizon. She has been with Verizon since, but to get to this point, she has had many pivots in her career and life. Her advice: stay connected! Continue to network. Do not discount talking to a recruiter, touch base with them, you want them to remember when you need them. And take any job, because you never know what you'll learn. Everything you do add to your experience bank.
