Amanda Whiting Gertstle has a fantastic perspective on life and career paths. She went to UCLA in the hopes of getting into the film school and had to redirect into Communications. This eventually led her to music. She started as a personal assistant, doing laundry, walking dogs, etc and now works at Universal Audio. Earlier in her career she made a lot of moves to different jobs and positions and started DJing. Amanda has now been DJing for 20 years, incredible! She speaks about the value in having multiple streams of income. Amanda says, "Every job is an interview for your next job." Even being a personal assitant, or an intern that only files magazines, how you do that job and the attitude you have doing that job is all a part of the interview. Her advice: Your 20s, event post college, are where you figure out what you want to do. Follow what excites you, and you'll be that much closer to figuring it out.
