pHET Balancing Equations Simulation
The pHET Balancing Chemical Equations simulation is a great tool at your disposal for helping your students understand how (and why) to balance chemical equations.
Atoms of each element are represented with different colors of spheres and are shown in the reactants and products. Students can easily SEE whether the same number of atoms of each element are going in and coming out of the reaction. They can use the toggles to add (or remove) molecules from each side of the equation until it is balanced.
Like all pHET simulations, this one doesn't cost a thing!
