In this portrait painting flow and lesson you se me paint a portrait of a man , his son and a dog . the portrait is of the fameous relastate owner Christian Ringnes whe owns much of the Norwegian capitol and are kind of a Norwegian Trump , funne and contrevirsial :)

HOW I START A OIL PAINTING 🎨
I start straight on the canvas and from a point and work from dark to light by adding colors and light and from there I just let it evolve in to a painting. If i start with the face I start with the bright parts and build textures with brushwork from there. I start on a canvas that I have toned with turpentine and raw umber , I do let it dry before painting so the raw umber do not mix with the clear oil colors in the Painting process .
Rembrandt is by far the greatest painter in my view and leonardo da vinchi the greatest artist that ever lived.
most of my figure paintings my paintings is done from art photo done with tungsten 6/7 Dias film or from natura.
I also paint still lifes and landscapes stillifes from natura and the landscapes from art photo that i usaly do my self unless it is a comisson artwork

My Focus as an Artist and painter is the paint itself and the aesthetics that evolves wile I transfer the motif on to the canvas. I am not a conceptual artist and my driving force for doing paintings is the personal challenge painting figurative gives me. As a painter with Artists like Rembrandt Turner Leonardo da Vinci and Jan Vermeer as my objective standard I will always have to push myself to get better In painting is where it get personal for me and where I reflect in results how successfully I have used my time and in the end my short existence in this infinite universe and time. On this channel i manly focus on oil paint and how to use brushes , oil painting medium , oil colors , how to mix oil paint , how to use the palette :)
I do make these videos to help others to become better painters and it makes me glad to hear that some of you get inspired to take up the work again or get better.
