Today you will learn how to use the Lasso Tool from Adobe Illustrator that helps you select objects or anchor points of an object by drawing freehand shapes around them. The cool thing is that it works even if they are inside of a group.

You can find Illustrator's Lasso tool in the Tools panel, just below the Direct Selection tool. Click the Lasso tool icon or press letter "Q" on your keyboard.

Click and drag around one or more objects to select them.

You can also select parts of an object (just some anchor points of an object).

You can add to your selection by holding the "SHIFT" Key. You will notice a plus symbol next to your Lasso Tool.

Or you can subtract from your selection by holding the "ALT" key. Of course you will now notice a minus symbol next to your Lasso Tool

Once your objects or part of an object is selected you can modify it as you wish. You can change the color of an object, you can move it or transform it as you would normally do with an object or an anchor point of an object.

I hope you found my little tutorial useful and you will use the Lasso Tool with confidence in the future!

I hope to see you soon on my YouTube channel or on my other social media accounts where I share more of my design work.
