How to Create a New CMYK File in Adobe Illustrator
Lesson 2
To create a new CMYK document in Illustrator go to File - New
In the pop up window you can choose from various templates or create a document exactly how you want it.
Here you can set up the following:
1. Name your document
2. Choose the measurement unit (inches, px etc.)
3. Document size
4. Number of Artboards and their orientation (portrait or landscape)
5. Bleed (in case of documents for digital work you never need it)
6. Color Mode (CMYK is best for any design that will be physically printed)
7. Raster Effects Resolution (always use 300ppi - The higher the resolution, the sharper and more defined your raster effects will be)
8. More Settings:
Choose how you want to arrange the artboards in your Illustrator file
Space between the Artboards
Hit the CREATE button!
Congratulations, now you have your first Illustrator CMYK File :)
