Decorating Hack: Mini Cake Summer Scene
A mini loaf pan is the perfect palette for setting a summer scene ☀️🌿🐛
Here's how to decorate your own caterpillar scene:
💚 Bake your favorite cake recipe in a mini loaf pan to get rectangular cakes
❤️ Tint your favorite buttercream recipe 5 different colors: light blue, light green, and yellow with our Pastel Gel Food Color Set and red and green from our regular Gel Food Color Set
💛 Use an offset spatula to add blue buttercream to the top half and green to the bottom half of your cake
💚On top of the blue, add a circular dab of yellow to the top left corner then add long yellow sprinkles for the sun rays
❤️ Place red and green buttercream in separate bags fitted with piping tip #10 and pipe dots along the center of the cake to make a caterpillar
💛 Gently press the cake down onto parchment paper and freeze for 20 minutes
💚 Once you have a flat top, remove from the paper and add two Candy Eyeballs and half a long black sprinkle for the mouth
❤️ Use green and red long sprinkles for the antenna and the legs
