Video Databending Experiment Using Audacity
To Databend with Audacity just open the file using Import Raw Data. This will open the "Import Raw Data" window. Set Encoding to U-Law and keep Byte order and Channels as they are. Then export, making sure the preferences are set to "Other uncompressed files" and options are set to raw header and U-Law encoding. Make sure to include the file extension (.avi, .mpg) in the name when saving.
This clip strarted of as 43 second long video of a girl playing with the curcuits of electronic toy. I found that using Audacity doesn't tend to alter the duration and only slightly corrupts the audio. I did discover though, that different codecs greatly effect the visuals. The first part of the video is a XVID codec and the second is a WMV2 codec. I then edited the two videos together.
