Video Databending Crashed My Computer Software
This was produced using the same method as I used to make my film clip 'Databending Video with Audacity'. This video was also made using the 43 second long clip of a girl circuit bending an electronic toy. This time I used ffv1 codec, which caused a lot of problems after I had corrupted the file with audacity. When I tried playing it with Avidemux it crashed the program after a few seconds and saving had similar consequences. After some perseverance I did manage to save 16 seconds of the file before it crashed the software I was using. The new file that I managed to save was also unstable. It crashed all my video editing software and it was hard to convert into other formats.
To Databend with Audscity just open the file using Import Raw Data. This will open the "Import Raw Data" window. Set Encoding to U-Law and keep Byte order and Channels as they are. Then export, making sure the preferences are set to "Other uncompressed files" and options are set to raw header and U-Law encoding. Make sure to include the file extension (.avi, .mpg) in the name when saving.
