Today we take a look at some Star Wars lore and find out what the marking's on Captain Rex's helmet mean
Soon after the Clone Wars hit the Galactic Theater, the Mandalorians offered their assistance in training the clones on Kamino. During this time, Captain Rex was awarded the markings on his helmet. These markings are called Jaig Eyes. These markings symbolized honor and bravery, and were very hard to attain, only given to very select people. The Jaig eyes are modeled after shriek hawks, who were large, predatory, bird-like creatures native to Mandalore.
The Jaig Eyes were initially on Boba Fett’s helmet in an early production design for the character’s introduction in The Empire Strikes Back.
