MACE WINDU VS. DOOKU!!
Tales of the Jedi gave us some awesome looks at the relationship between Mace Windu and Dooku. After the Yaddle fight, I couldn't help but wonder how things would be different if Mace had shown up.
The Yaddle vs Dooku fight in tales of the jedi was really cool, and it got me thinking… what would have happened if Mace Windu fought Dooku instead.
Yes, I know that he couldn’t have because him and Dooku were still alive after this event and I know that Palpatine was there as well, but forget all that, just a straight up duel, who would win?
Dooku used form II of lightsaber combat, Makashi. Form II focused on controlled, precise strikes with the saber. If you watch Dooku fight, especially in the clone wars, he almost looks like he fencing. His curved saber hilt was also constructed with precision and control in mind. He’s taken on Anakin and Obi wan simultaneously multiple times. He survived the fight with grandmaster yoda. All this to say that he is an excellent duelist.
Mace Windu on the other hand was also a very powerful fighter. Mace Windu used Form VII, Juyo, which focused on power and aggression. Furthermore, Mace used his own version of Form VII called Vapaad. Vapaad channeled the inner darkness of the user and used it in the battle. The user would enjoy the fight and take pleasure in their victory. Vapaad made you quicker, hit harder, and you felt good doing it. Mace Windu is also very talented at a force ability called Shatterpoint, where he can see weak points in situations and in reality.
With all that being said, I'd have to put my money on Mace. I believe that he beat Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith, a feat that not even Yoda could accomplish. And i think that Vapaad and shatterpoint are just too op to vote against him. And let’s be honest, it’s not like Mace can’t swing a lightsaber. Yes, Dooku has better technique and strategy, but my money’s on Mace to walk away with the dub.
