Where are Ezra and Thawn? - Star Wars Theory
Where is Ezra? Where is Thrawn? These are questions that haven't been answered since the end of Rebels, but it may be answered in Ahsoka. Check out my theory on what happened to Thrawn and Ezra.
Ezra and Thrawn’s mysterious exit of the galactic theater has been speculated about by Star Wars fans for years now. Today, I have an answer to the enigma of the whereabouts of the Chiss genius and the promising Jedi.
I think the situation that Ezra and Thrawn are in is extremely drastic and unprecedented throughout the galaxy. In fact, I don’t think they’re in the galaxy at all. I think that the purgill took them past the unknown regions, past the outer rim, past all that is known. Floating in a dead ship, with no communications, no engines or hyperdrives, nothing. This would explain why, despite Thrawn’s genius, he’s been kept away from the empire all throughout the original trilogy era. This means that Ezra and Thrawn will have to work together to find a way home, with the help of Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren. Maybe Ahsoka finds a temple similar to the one on Tython where she can reach out and sense Ezra, and she finds ways to guide him home, all the while dealing with her own problems back in the galaxy. Something has to explain why Thrawn’s genius and Ezra’s ingenuity have kept them away so long, and I think this could be an answer. Is it the direction Dave Filoni is going to go? Probably not, but it’s a fun theory, and that’s all we can do at this point until we finally get an answer.
