Magical May in the cottage garden
May is a month of marvellous growth in the garden. Luxurious fresh flushes of foliage, and the rushes of early flowers. Stand out plants are Iris, both bearded and siberian, Nepeta, Geum, Foxglove, Thalictrum (much used at Chelsea flower show this year) and wonderful Hawthorn blossom, both white and deep pink.
