Warm late summer light making the cottage garden magical
This is the month when the dahlias really come into their own, in every size from miniature pom poms to giant dinner plates and in every colour from palest mauve and creamy white through to a red so dark it is nearly black. Above all, as the summer draws to a close, the sunlight bathes the garden in a magical atmosphere, which is a great reward for getting up at dawn!
