Ryzen 5 Pricing And Release Date Revealed!!!
The Ryzen 5 line has been officially announced! The pricing and release dates have been revealed, the entire Ryzen 5 line will be made avalible come Aprill 11th. So far AMD is doing a great job with the Ryzen 7 line but I am anxious to see how the more consumer friendly Ryzen 5 line will perform. These processors are most likely going to compete with the I5 lineup from Intel however the core counts from Ryzen 5 always lead to the possibilities of the 1600X competing with an I7. Personally I don't think the Ryzen 5 CPU's will compete very well with the I7 series from Intel, it is a very understandable comparison to make.
I really like what AMD has done with pricing the Ryzen line of processors. The 1600X being priced at 249$ is absolutly game changing. If you compare the Ryzen 5 1600X to Intel's I5 7600K it looks insane! If you pay just a few dollars more for the 1600X you get an extra 2 cores and 8 threads. Now obviously there could still be a performance gap between them in the same way that there is still a gap between the Ryzen 7 line and the Intel I7 line. Still even if there was a slight performace gap this is an awesome to get so much more for your money from the Ryzen 1600X.
I am somewhat concerened with the quad core CPU's for the Ryzen 5 lineup. Both of them only have a turbo boost of 200Mhz, which makes me question the overclocking capabilities of these processors. The pricing of the 1500X and 1400 are very good, to get a 4 core 8 thread cpu for under 200$ is an amazing value. Hopefully the price is worth the lower clock speeds but in this case I will just have to put faith in AMD and hope that these processors will be good.
