As I started making this video I got the news that Nick Foles was resigned to the Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Foles is set to make $11 Million with $7 Million in guarantees over 2 years. I personally like this because Nick Foles is a pretty decent starter and would make for an excelent back up to Carson Wentz. Assuming his cost is low I think this was a very smart move by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Obviously with the Eagles signing Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Chance Warmack, and now Nick Foles the draft needs have dramatically changed. Just a week ago we were expected to go after a wide receiver in the first round but now the tide have shifted to a cornerback. Unfortuinatly the cornerback that the Eagles intended to draft, Sidney Jones suffered a ruptured Achillies durring his pro day. This is a very unfortuinate incident for both Sidney Jones and the Eagles because there is a steep talent drop off between him and guys like Marlon Humphrey and Teez Tabor. Ultimatly I think the Eagles will use their first round pick to get a wide receiver or running back. Although the Eagles have said that they will be focusing on drafting the best player avalible which could potentially be the tight end O.J. Howard, while he does not fit an immediate need for the Eagles he will most likely be the most tallented player avalible at the 14th overall pick. I would like to see the Eagles go after a guy like Joe Mixon or Samaje Perine for their 3rd round pick. They both have incredible upside and very little risk. Joe Mixon is an insane tallent but he is being projected to the 3rd round because he had some off the field issues but his talent is easily worth of a 1st round pick. Perine has all the upside and clean off the field issues. I still feal like the Eagles should draft a Linebacker and an Offensive Tackle. While they may not be immediate issues they are positions that will become necissary within 2 years. I think drafting and developing players to be future starters is a safe a cheap rout to go.
