A New Model Railway Layout build is kicking off 2022 here at oorail. This will be an end to end shelf layout in OO gauge. In this video we show you how we retrofitted the old original oorail layout (before YouTube) that has been a workbench for the past decade. This started out by installing a more secure and flat surface. We show you the under the baseboard storage system and custom C/U brackets that are used to bolt the main layout to the wall. The video shows you how to use cable management conduit as a platform to install off the shelf LED lights. There are also some subtle hints about the type of layout being built. We also show some photos of the original layout, it was built in 2010, about a year before starting this channel. It started off as a short test bench and quickly expanded into a large loop. Took the lessons learnt from that to built the main oorail layout today. This video starts the retrofitting process of that original layout into a new end to end layout.
