KOTK – However It Ends (2012, Belgium) [4K Upscale]
Morbid yet somewhat humourous PSA from Kom Op Tegen Kanker ("Stand up to cancer") showing the various ways in which old people have perished – from the most anti-climatic and mundane to the ungraceful and unflattering. The message is that no matter how your life ends, you can still make a difference to the ones still living by donating to the KOTK to help with their fight against cancer.
Though it's quite clearly meant to be a comical and deadpan approach to the topic of death, some of the shots are actually quite creepy, and the music playing over the top of them doesn't help either.
Still, it's quite an interesting take on ads encouraging you to donate to charities in your will. It certainly beats the tripe we get on TV these days with ads for life insurance companies, funerals, crematoriums, and charities who can't seem to wait until you're dead and your body not even turning cold to take your money off you.
Alas, being dead is pretty expensive.
