Nothing beats running outdoors and now that the weather is finally warming up, it’s time to ease up on that treadmill and take it outdoors. But before you run, perform dynamic stretches to warm up, and avoid static stretches, as they can cause injury.
A good “dynamic” mobilization warm up increases the range of movement of the joints and will activate muscles – reducing your risk of injury and allowing you to run with better form. Warming up also raises the heart rate, breathing rate and core temperature, especially if you're doing a harder run or race.
