BBC Radio 1 & 2 - David Hamilton - September 1977
It's September 1977 and we're just a couple of months away from Radio 1 and 2 going their separate ways on weekday afternoons following a 2-year BBC cost-cutting exercise where David Hamilton's afternoon show went out on both stations.
For those of us who suffered poor quality reception on Radio 1's 247 metre frequency, this was also a chance to hear a daily Radio 1 show on FM.
Tony Blackburn pops in for a quick chat - the two had a long-time friendly on-air rivalry - perhaps the final joke would be Tony taking over the Radio 1 afternoon show by the end of the year with David Hamilton moving to Radio 2.
