BBC Radio 2 - Pete Murray & David Hamilton - March 1978
We're just coming up to 2.30pm on St David's Day, Wednesday March 1st 1978 and Pete Murray's daily "Open House" is coming to a close ahead of the David Hamilton Show.
By now, David is 4 months into his time with Radio 2, after the BBC threw a bit of extra money at their afternoon programming at the end of 1977. This enabled Radio 1 & 2 to carry separate programming following 3 years of simulcasting, with David Hamilton up against his long-time friend and rival, Tony Blackburn on Radio 1.
