BBC Radio 1 - David Hamilton jingle - 1976
Broadcasting legend "Diddy" David Hamilton hosted the afternoon show on Radio 1 during the mid 1970s which was simulcast on Radio 2, giving a daily opportunity to hear Radio 1 on stereo FM.
Here's a quick (and not very melodious!) mix of the David Hamilton and Monday-to-Friday jingles which was regularly used around 1976.
I had the privilege of meeting David and watching his show go out from Broadcasting House during 1978 - by that time he'd moved to Radio 2 in a schedule that put him up against his long-time friend and rival Tony Blackburn on Radio 1.
