👱 intro to Tyler Whittingham 2019
I thought it was important that before you learn anything else from me, you learn about me.
My name is Tyler Whittingham, but I sometimes use Ty because it fits better within a Google ad.
I have a beautiful, loving wife who always keeps me anchored. A strapping young boy who keeps me young. One on the way. And my dream job.
Over the years, I have manufactured my life to be exactly what I want it to be. A fundamental aspect of how I got to where I am now is Google Ads (internet marketing in general as well, but on this channel, specifically Google Ads).
I'm not one to brag, and you will likely never see videos from me talking about how many cool cars I have or how big my house is, because I only have two cars, both about 10 years old and only worth a couple thousand dollars each. My house is very normal size, approximately 3000 square feet. And that's just the way I like it. Don't waste money on cars when you could invest it and make it grow. Don't get a huge house because there's just more to clean. If you are not as financially successful as you would like to be right now, then what I can tell you is, that as soon as you are, resist all urges to waste money on cars and unnecessarily large houses. Thank me later on that one.
I got my start in the internet by working with my Uncle and Cousin in the affiliate marketing world. I learned all about CPA marketing, Affiliates (and super affiliates), and most importantly, how massive volumes of sales were generated through the internet.
I vividly remember sitting in a college history class, checking stats on my BlackBerry Pearl’s 2.2 inch screen and watching over $100,000 in sales per hour go through our tracking system. After that, nothing Any teacher could ever tell me ever mattered. I went through the motions of college for the social aspect, and knew I would want to focus my career on internet marketing. Which, wasn't even being taught in Universities at the time.
Don't get me wrong, I learned countless lessons in my Visual Communications and strategic Communications classes that provided foundational knowledge for how to make great advertising campaigns, but I learned the most from online forums, blogs and going to trade shows. I'm very grateful for my college experience, but I'm even more grateful that I worked with him my industry during that time.
After college, I began to naturally gravitate towards Google Ads. I wanted to enable ordinary businesses to use the online marketing tactics I learned in affiliate marketing to generate new sales and customers for their business. I worked for a handful of agencies and startups, then eventually started my own agency bringing my childhood and current friend on as a partner in 2015. I have since exited that agency and began a New Journey on my own, with the soul purpose of teaching as many people as possible how to effectively generate new customers with Google Ads.
My new business, Google As Training and Consulting, has been going since May 2019. I plan on using YouTube as two important uses. First, to help distribute my content and reach you, the faithful. Second, for documentary purposes. I want a record of how this business grew, what I'm learning, the calls that I have with people and anything else I can think of that might help you have a better life.
