CLOWN BEHAVIOR AT THE MHA PANEL ► awesome con 2023
I was the whole circus during the MHA VA panel at Awesome Con. I was having fun and I'm not ashamed of that. Someone did upload this full in panel in HD quality, but I wanted to edit my own video of the panel because it's more personal and you can hear my antics better.
So a few weeks ago, I went to Awesome Con in Washington DC. First time at this con. I've only been to a few cons in my life and they've all been great, but I had such an incredible time at this one. Especially on this day. The second day was just amazing. I cosplayed as Wolfwood. Half assed home made Punisher included. No, I actually put a lot of time, effort, love, (and money) into that thing and I'm proud of it. The first cosplay prop I ever built. But I met another Wolfwood cosplayer in passing. We were both freaking out and ended up hanging out for a few hours. It was like we instantly became best friends. And I dragged her with me to see David Matranga. He absolutely LOVED it. He joked that we were doing a whole photoshoot at his booth because we were just taking pictures with him. And he even signed my Punisher. And the other WW cosplayer and I walked all over the con floor together. We were stopped so many times to take pictures. I got so many compliments and everyone was so nice. I've never gotten so much attention at a convention in my life. It was amazing. But totally irrelevant to this video. All of that happened after this panel anyways.
Ok, so this was the My Hero Academia voice actor panel that was on Saturday afternoon (June 17). This was all recorded on my phone by my dad who went to the con with me. I was standing in line to ask a question (this is only my second time ever doing that). I decided before the panel I was feeling ballsy enough to actually go up there. And I knew exactly what I wanted to ask. And while waiting in line, I was vibing. I was probably having the most fun out of everyone in that room (and mind you, that room was so crowded) Tbh I wasn't sure if I would get to even ask my question because they just kept talking and going off on random tangents. They had 11 of the voice actors, so it was a lot. And when it was finally my turn, I was so nervous. But I'm so glad I managed to get it all out and David was cool to indulge me. And he even wore a bracelet that I made for him. I gave it to him the day before and asked him to wear it the next day and he did. It says "WOLFWOOD BRAINROT". I had one to match of course.
So after the panel I went to his table and told him that it was me who screamed when he mentioned Tomodachi Game and Cop Craft. He was so surprised but I was like "Are you kidding? Of course I've seen Tomodachi Game and Cop Craft!!!!" And I thanked him for wearing the bracelet. By now I have bothered him enough to the point that he knows who I am and we just have fun conversations. Usually I'm super anxious and have horrible social anxiety, but David is fun and easy to talk to. Later that night I went back to see him right as he was packing up to leave, but he stayed and chatted with me for awhile because no one else was around. It was so cool. He's such a sweetheart. He signed my Shoto funko pop and I gave him a gift that I'd been too nervous to ever give to him, but he was so gracious and accepting. He absolutely loved it and that made me so happy. He's so wonderful. I'm truly grateful for every time I get to see him. I'm not sure when the next time will be. But I have so many wonderful memories from that weekend. It was amazing!
