I'm back.
Happy New Year. I hope that 2023 has been treating you well so far. Mine has been uneventful, but I am going to attempt to do more vidding this year. We'll see how that goes.
Ok, so I'm back with my first video of the new year. Season 6 of My Hero Academia has been absolutely insane. And I'm obsessed with everything that is going on with the Todoroki family. That is my favorite plot point of the whole series. Shoto is and always will be my favorite MHA character, but after Dabi's Dance.....I think I need to make some room in my mind for Touya because WOW. Shit's intense. I already knew that Dabi was a Todoroki. I don't read the manga, but I saw the shit back in 2020 when it broke the internet. Tbh, spoilers don't bother me, but I don't look for them willingly.
Shoto and his family trauma is my favorite plot point of MHA and honestly the only reason I still watch this series. But I'm like super invested in it now. The reveal was so intense. Episodes 11 and 12 are probably my favorite of the season so far. I'm dub only this season. Too much to keep up with both. Oh god, Jason Liebrecht, David Matranga, and Patrick Seitz have been absolutely killing it with their performances. I actually cried watching Threads of Hope (episode 12). It's been awhile since MHA made me feel that way. And I've rewatched both these episodes several times (which is something I never do). I could rant about every little detail that I love, but I won't. I mostly just gush about Shoto on twitter anyways.
As far as the video goes, I'm quite proud of this one. I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and got some new editing programs to use. For this I mostly used a program called CapCut. It's amazing. I've been having so much fun with it. There's so many cool effects and filters. I love it! I'm excited to create some awesome things with it.
I've had this song in my back pocket for like a year or so to make a video. It's so epic. And it just fits so perfectly with Touya's trauma and spiral into insanity to get revenge on Enji. How he just wants to burn everything with his flames and kill his own family because he has no empathy for anyone anymore. But my favorite part of this arc is how much Shoto has stepped up. It shouldn't even be his responsibility, but he's the one fighting Touya to protect everyone he cares about, including their father. Like I said, I could gush on and on about how much I LOVE Shoto, but I won't. He's just such a special character to me. And I'm both excited for and dreading where he goes for the rest of the season. He's my baby and I love him. But I'm also excited for what happens with Touya. I don't read the manga so I'm in the dark. And I'd like to stay there. But I'm living for the angst at the moment.
