Welcome to Crawl or No Crawl - this is Carolyn Holzman and today is August 14 - day 711 of the indexation research project. 19 days away from the 2 year anniversary of this project.
The indexer is in development and will start with beta sometime in September - yay.
The Forensic SEO Training enrollment is open now for the next training session on Sep 7, 14, 21 and is also being updated with information on a Helpful Content Diagnostic as well as the server log information and more technical diagnostics - https://forensicseotraining.com/ - the page has been updated with the details, specific dates and a pay option.
Looks like we are back into a 2 day timeframe from published to being findable by keywords for new content. Revised existing served content does not take that long. Here’s where it started and interestingly it coincided with google’s announcement about the only showing FAQ and HowTo Rich Snippets on desktop and only for sites they consider authority. Likely their testing these things is what spawned that incredible old-fashioned couple of hours from publish to serve - now that they are rolling it out - they can go back to their normal 2 day schedule. You can see this in the daily testing where it started.
Volatility in Volatility continues -
I shared this comparison report of two cora reports run in consecutive order on the same day and there is definitely some volatility - useful to illustrate that up and down 1 to 2 spots is normal movement -
We know some results went up more - but is that because a company hired an seo or is google testing - hard to say definitely they could both initially look the same
So I compared the reports from the 10th and the 12th to see if it illustrated anything more dramatic - the 10th was a Thursday - the 12th was a Saturday - emergency anything is not a respecter of weekends - what happens
Comparatively speaking with adding in time - the difference between the 2 days in rankings showed some interesting jumps
One went up 79
Another down 17
From page 9 until the last result - looks like 8 new results entered.
So clearly - the volatility within the hour is less than volatility day to day.
I’m digging into one particular result now where two pages from the same domain make wild swings, drop in and drop out - and it grabbed my attention - I’ll get back to you on that
Remember to check out the Forensic SEO Live Training - interactive - ask your questions - direct access - the link to the sales page is in the description or you can google “Forensic SEO” and its the 2nd result - look for American way media
See you later gator.
