Paddle Queensland 2023 Marathons - Standard Course
The weekend of 23-25 June saw Paddle Queensland host the State Kayak Marathons starting with the schools on Friday seeing Pacific Lutheran the overall winners.
Saturday was the short course for all age groups and the standard course for open age group singles and junior doubles.
Sunday was the open age group doubles and the junior singles.
This video is of the standard course which consisted four waves setting off at 1 minute intervals from 11am. The standard course totalled a max of 20.1km including portages for certain age groups, although paddlers could nominate to paddle shorter distances.
After the start I headed over to the final turn of each lap which was also where the beach portage took place.
