It would seem that replacing bearings in such a washing machine is as simple as it seems, but it's not as easy as it seems. The fact is, for me, as a handyman, it's easier to replace bearings on a glued-in drum. Replacing the bearings yourself is quite simple, but installing the drum lid and pressing in the seal isn't quite as easy. The tank lid is made of stainless steel, but it's so thin that it's prone to bending, or deforming, at any moment. Another complication is the rubber seal: when it's installed at the factory, it's glued in place. This glue needs to be peeled off within half a day, and then the lid and tank are coated with some kind of sealant or crocodile clip to prevent water leakage from under the seal. Overall, there are some nuances you need to be aware of. The repair itself is quite painstaking and tedious, but it's well worth the investment, as this particular Indesit washing machine, in my opinion, is one of the best-performing models ever produced. The control module is practically indestructible; at least, I've rarely had to repair them. The bearings are 204 and 203, which is actually quite good in my opinion. The drain pump has lasted for 15-20 years and will likely continue to do so for many more. It also has a good set of additional features, including a mechanical selector operated by the control unit. After installing the drum in the washing machine, be sure to check for water leaks, as water is the primary cause of many malfunctions, which occur due to short circuits or current leaks into the housing. I use special seal grease, as detailed in the video; it's available at any specialty store. I use SKF bearings, although many have switched to Japanese brands these days. I still prefer this manufacturer. You can learn more about this in this video. Enjoy watching, subscribe to the channel, and like it.
