It’s only natural to bring the constant cyclical motion of the legs from other conditioning machines to the rowing machine. But there’s a subtle yet crucial difference.
Stopping your legs for a moment at the finish of each stroke might seem counterintuitive, but it allows you to reset your body position for a stronger catch and more efficient stroke.
Try pausing the legs for just a second at the end of each stroke. As they pause, continue moving the hands and let the body follow as it angles back over - THEN let the legs come back up. It’s a small adjustment that can make a big impact.
