My Smoking Cessation (Day 4) - Nicotine Withdrawal.
This video isn't some pseudo-scientific analysis, but rather the thoughts of a former smoker. Many were told as children that smoking is bad, but what happens when you quit? I decided to explain what awaits people who want to quit smoking during a period of 3-30 days without nicotine. Smoking cessation causes serious problems associated with eating disorders, specifically increased appetite. Nicotine reduces appetite and increases metabolism by 7-15%. Many smokers gain weight during the first 2-3 months after quitting. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
Nicotine withdrawal also includes symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, depressed mood or depression, difficulty concentrating, insomnia, and restlessness. Less common side effects may include tremors, sweating, dizziness, changes in blood pressure, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal upset, and intestinal pain.

Nicotine addiction causes people to return to cigarette use to avoid these unpleasant physiological and mental effects. 50%-75% of those trying to quit smoking return to nicotine use within the first week. Only 3% of smokers can abstain from nicotine for more than 6 months, according to general statistics.

Some studies show that withdrawal symptoms appear as early as 4 hours after quitting, peaking by the third day, and disappearing almost completely within 10-30 days. However, signs of nicotine addiction can persist for much longer than a month.

When trying to quit smoking, people experience noticeable impairments in memory and cognitive function, which limit their intellectual abilities. This explains the difficulty of overcoming nicotine addiction. Most people are constantly working or studying and cannot afford to be inactive for 2-3 months. Fortunately, I've found the right time to quit smoking, and I'll be sharing regular updates with you about my quitting process. Everyone probably knows that smoking kills (reduces potential lifespan), so by quitting this harmful habit at a young age, you have the potential to extend your life by 5-10 years. If this topic interests you, I'm happy to make a video about an easy way to quit smoking.
