Ramsey Moorman has been with Verizon since he started college. 18 years, going on 19. He started with Verizon as a greeter in 2002 and became a Store Manager in 2008! In college, Ramsey switched majors twice before landing on Economics and Business. It taught him what he needed to know about business while being broad enough to explore more paths. From being a greeter, to a customer service rep, store manager, and now leading multiple client partners, Ramsey has had 11 different jobs within Verizon. The three things that keep him at Verizon are the culture, the ability to reinvent yourself within a large and diverse business and the capability of the technology. Verizon is innovating the way we live and touch and feel life. Early in Ramsey's career, he took some time to reflect on who he was and what was important to him. After that, he took a leap and moved from Delaware to Maryland, staying with Verizon, and began building his personal brand. His advice to students: Understand that whatever you choose, take it seriously. Enjoy college, but take your studies seriously. Try to figure out what you're really good at naturally, where your heart is, and what can pay the bills. College does not mean automatic success. Have a degree is a ticket to the game, but you have to be able to play the game to win. Also, some of the best life lessons come from being knocked down. How you respond to failure is critical to what your future looks like. Take failure as a learning experience.
