MC Murray Bedford Half Bridge Inverter : Working And Output Waveforms
It consists of two thyristors T1 &T2 , two diodes D1 & D2 , two capacitors C1 & C2 & two inductors L1 & L2 .
Diodes D1 & D2 are feedback diodes.
These inductors are two half section of single inductor.
To avoid saturation, core of inductor is provided with air gap .
Inductors and capacitors are commutating components.
As the thyristors are commutated by reverse bias, this inverter is a voltage commutated voltage source inverter.
This inverter is a complementary commutated inverter because when one off thyristor is turned on, the other on thyristor will be turned off
Advantage of this circuit is that commutation of T1 & T2 does not require additional auxiliary thyristors
