Hi, everybody! We all know that, as game developers, it's super-important to finish building your game! But, if you're going to go to all the trouble of building a game, you may as well spend a little extra time on POLISH!
Polishing your game is incredibly important, and almost as important as the overall game itself. A polished game leaves the player completely immersed and in awe, amazed at the game experience they are having. Game polish is all those little extra bells and whistles that add to the overall experience. Smooth transitions, sound effects, particle effects...all of the little extras that really push your game over the top.
Skipping out on polishing your game may not mean your game is any less of a game, but it definitely signals to the player that this game is something worth their time and investment. A polished game says, "Hey! This game is important and really means something!"
