Painting a black clay slab pot
This slab pot is made of a black clay body. I’m adding layers of engobe and slip to create a depth of colour. More detail is then added with some monoprinted marks and then some brighter underglaze is used to create a stronger coloured point of detail. I like getting in a flow when I work on the surface of my pots. I treat them like paintings and enjoy composing the variety of marks across the surface of these 3D forms.
