This Megashift Pearl flips from red to green!
Red colorshifts are hard to find but luckily we had one up our sleeve. Mars Megashift is a wild pearl flipping from Red in direct sunlight to Green on the tail end. This customer wanted something wild and Mars Megashift was right up their alley.
We washed the vehicle 24hrs prior with water and dish soap to remove any dirt or grease. Liquid wrap goes right over the factory paint so there's no sanding necessary but we do want to make sure the surface is clean for the best possible adhesion.
When masking we always use solvent resistant tape, paper, and plastic. We don't want paint bleeding through. This customer wants all the trim as well as the wheels blacked out so we made sure to leave the trim exposed and remove the wheels prior to spraying.
For the best effect, this pearl will need to go over a black base. We throw 3 gallons of black down on the car, trim, and wheels then let it dry for a few hours. Once the base is dry we masked off the trim with some delicate tape. This tape has a weak adhesive so we don't have to worry about it pulling up the black base when we unmask.
Next we mix in 25 grams of Mars Megashift per gallon and lay about 2 gallons down on the car. We added some violet booster in with it to bring out more of the reds/pinks but mostly to assist with spraying. Boosters help smooth out color coverage avoiding stripes and blotchiness.
After the car has dried for about an hour we spray 2 coats of clear down and let it sit overnight. This project came out amazing and extremely vibrant in the sun. The red was deep and pronounced and the green took over at those sharp angles. Definitely a crazy colorshift and job well done.
This Liquid Wrap will last the owner a good 4-5 years, longer if taken care of, and peel right off like vinyl when they are ready. It is gas resistant and pretty durable. You can buff, polish, wax, and even run it through a car wash. With thousands of colors to choose from, it is a great way to protect your factory paint and change it up at the same time.
