Rescuing a Gopher Snake From Bird Netting
This big, beautiful gopher snake was tangled in some old bird, netting on my property that the previous owner left behind. My dogs informed me that something wasn’t right near the chicken coop and I came down to see this beauty trapped. I was able to cut it safely out with some trim scissors and I released her in the field next to my house outside of the gate, so my dogs wouldn’t harass it. Gopher snakes are beneficial, especially out here in the country where we deal with a lot of different types of rodents. Be very careful when, approaching a snake, gopher snakes, and diamondback rattlesnakes can look very similar if you aren’t familiar with snakes.
